Answer your Questions

Question: It is often said in mass-media the palm oil is harmful for human organism. There are the TV ads of the powdered detergent with palm oil. How it can be explained?

Answer.
M-r Dergausov V. I. – the assistant professor of Moscow state university of food production answers.

The palm oils are among of the ancient vegetable oils used for food preparation. At present time the world industry produces more than 20 millions tons of palm oil, or 25% of all the vegetable oils produced. They are consumed by about 1.5 billions of people. The most common the palm oil is used in traditional food in countries of South-Eastern Asia and Latin America, and also in several European countries – Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Chezh Republic and other.

Red palm oil differs from other palm oils. It is manufactured with the original technology from special oil palms only. Due to this it is manufactured a hundred times less than common palm oil. The main point of our concern towards the red palm oil is the high concentration of carotinoids (provitamin А), tocotrienols, tocopherols (vitamin Е), co-enzyme Q10, phospholipids and some other biologically active substances that improve the physiological properties and provide oil stability in storage.

The quality of red palm oil and amount of healthy components in it depends primarily from the oil palm specie it is produced from. The Denmark and Malaysia Corporation "United Plantations Berhad (UPB)" in the last 40 investigations of the oil quality improvement through elite oil palm species selection in Malaysia bred new palm specie - OG HYBRID. There was developed and implemented a special technology of refining and fractionation of the raw oil from the selected fruit pulp of the mentioned palm specie; the technology helps to save up to 80% of carotinoids, vitamin E and other biologically active substances.

Nowadays the yield of such oil is only 10% of all red palm oil produced. It’s the most perfect product for use with food, and it corresponds to the requirements of healthy food, and also it differs from other pal and vegetable oils due to rich content of natural vitamins and biologically active substances. The product is a pride of Malaysian palm industry and has no analogue in the world market. In Europe and America the oil is known as "Nutrolein - GOLDEN PALM OIL", in Russia and CIS countries it is known as "Red palm oil "Zlata Palma"®. MIR KRASOTY Corporation has the exclusive right for oil distribution in Russia and CIS countries.

Question: How to take the fact that "Zlata Palma"® is refined and deodorized?

Answer.
M-r Dergausov V. I. – the assistant professor of Moscow state university of food production answers.

TO REFINE OIL OR NOT: THE OLD QUESTION – IT HAS MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF HISTORY.

While oil plant processing, there is manufactured the unhulled (unrefined) vegetable oil (it is refined from mechanical admixtures only at the oil extracting plants). Besides fats, the unhulled oils contain the concomitant substances: useful and harmful.

First class of substances are carotinoids, phospholipids, tocopherols, tocotrienols, carbohydrates etc. They increase the physiological value of oil and it's stability in storage.

The harmful substances contained in raw material move into the oil during the oil production – among them there are the fatty acids, traces of metals and different enzymes. Unfortunately, other chemical substances from raw material also pass into the oil, among them are substances added to raw material while planting and processing it with chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

May be the most negative factors are those of free fatty acids and the problem of fats oxidizing. The oxidation products accelerate the oil taints, and decrease their nutrient value and safety use. The lipid peroxides and some other products generate from them, react with proteins and enzymes and this way they influence the main functions of a living organism, and – as a consequence – help organism senescence and diseases develop.

Who wants to consume low-quality oil? There is only one solution – purifying, or oil refining. It is necessary to notice the citizens of Europe and USA cannot even imagine how they could use the unrefined vegetable oil. More than 30 years ago the production of the unrefined oil was forbidden.

n USSR times a lot of discussions among the scientists as to the oil refining had been raised, because the aroma of the sunflower oil was considered as national feature, but even at those times the science had proved the unrefined oil contained harmful substances.

That’s why it’s clear the oil refining has no alternatives. Red palm oil "Zlata Palma - Exclusive"® is produced with the original technology from the fresh fruits of special planted oil palm OG HYBRID.

While processing red palm oil "Zlata Palma"® а modern refining technology is used that provides the producing of the palm oil with quality similar to refined, discolored and deodorized oil. Applying of this technology helps save the most of carotinoids, vitamin E, co-enzyme Q10 and many other useful substances of the unrefined palm oil. The oil manufacturers ensure that no chemical substances, synthetic colorants or preservatives were added to "Zlata Palma"® oil.

In September, 2003 at the 12th international exhibition of food products "WORLD FOOD" red palm oil "Zlata Palma - Exclusive"®, with its general distributor "Palm Oil Group" Company, was tasted for the first time. For the first time for the long years of oil degust presentation the oil "Zlata Palma - Exclusive"® was recognized as the Product of the year - 2003 and became the holder of the main exhibition prize – the Grand Prix diploma.

Question: The look of oil varies. Sometimes it can be transparent liquid of wonderful ruby color, and sometimes it is a stiff flaked whitish mass. Why it is so? And what are the rules for oil storage?

Answer.
The answer was given by department of “Fat technology and bioorganic synthesis” of Moscow State university of food production.

SOME FACTS OF THE RED PALM OIL “Zlata Palma”® STORAGE.

It is recommended to store oil “Zlata Palma”® in a dark place and at room temperature (18-25 °С). If the temperature decreases, the fatty acids contained in the palm oil “Zlata Palma”® achieve its chilling point (4-6 °С) and turn into a stiff flaked condition. The lower the storage temperature is, more oil turns into flakes, even to complete oil chilling. It’s a common process during which all consumer properties are preserved. A classical sample of such a physical phenomenon – chilling – is water turning into a solid state – ice and vice versa. The oil while turning form liquid state in solid and vice versa doesn’t lose its chemical properties. If the storing temperature increases up to the room temperature or higher, the oil retains its initial look completely.

Question: What does it mean "iodic index of oil "Zlata Palma"® - 64-70"? Does it shows the amount of Iodine in oil?

Answer.
The iodic index does not relate to the amount of iodine in the oil.

The iodic index does not relate to the amount of iodine in the oil. The term is used because iodine is the main component of the analysis for determining the rate of unsaturated fatty acids in fat, so the index shows the amount of iodine that can conjugate with 100.0 g of fat. The fewer amount of unsaturated fatty acids is, the less is the iodic index. The iodic index in the oil "Zlata Palma"® is quite high.

Question: What is "bad" and "good" cholesterol?

Answer.
All people are born with the clear vessels, that have a long life. Why become they so dirty, that leads to atherosclerosis.

The wide spread thought that vessel walls are covered inside with something like incrustation, like water pipes, is not quite right. Thin and elastic vessel walls become thickened and indurated with years almost in everyone. The dilation appears heterogeneously: firstly there appear lipid stripes on the walls along the vessel diameter, then around this zone of lipids accumulation the connective tissue proliferates and there is a plaque forming that further concentrically constricts the vessel lumen. If the process appears after 60 years – it is a sad, but absolutely normal phenomenon. If the process appears earlier, it is called early atherosclerosis. The plaques are formed on arteries walls only – the vessels with blood rich with oxygen. The most often effected vessels are Aorta, coronary arteries, and also the cerebrum vessels, kidneys vessels, and pelvic limbs vessels. The plaques are named atheromas and consist mostly of cholesterol.

Cholesterol is one of important building materials for organism. It is present in cell walls, neurolemma, participates in hormone synthesis (including gonadal hormones) and synthesis of vitamin D.

It is thought in average almost two thirds of cholesterol is synthesized in liver, and only one third of cholesterol one gets with food. Individual values may be different from average ones. There is some kind of cholesterol producing and consumption circulation in the organism. The main cholesterol producer and consumer is liver. One hepatic cell lives for about 100 days. Building a new hepatic cell requires a lot of cholesterol. The most part of the cholesterol synthesized in liver escapes into the intestine with gall, where almost 97% of excreted cholesterol is soaked into the blood and spread along the vessels. A question appears: how can cholesterol – a substance of lipoid nature – dissolve in blood? It’s not dissolved in blood. It’s transferred by special transport particles - lipoproteins.

There are the low density lipoproteins (LDL) and high density lipoproteins (HDL).

s transferred by special transport particles - lipoproteins. There are the low density lipoproteins (LDL) and high density lipoproteins (HDL). The first type of lipoproteins (their amount is nearly 70% of total amount) provides the cholesterol transfer from liver to the cholesterol consumers – suprarenal bodies and other endocrine organs. This very cholesterol “while transferring” can deposit on the vessel walls and decrease the vessel lumen. As a result the blood flow decreases, the blood feeding of organ reduces and the circulatory deficiency appears. Due to the reduced blood flow the platelets deposit on the plaques, so the vessel lumen contracts more and there is a risk of thrombosis. Following it there can appear infarctions, insults and neurosis tarda etc.

To put it in simpler words, the low density lipoproteins are called proteins with “bad” choThe high density lipoproteins, alternatively, extract the cholesterol from the vessel wall and deliver it to the liver; the HDL helps to eliminate the LDL out of the organism and decrease the risk of atherosclerotic variations.

This is the clever idea of the nature to keep the cholesterol balance of the organism.

Question: Can the oil "Zlata Palma"® be useful while having the chronic rhinitis and sore throat?

Doctor-endocrinologist, MD ZASORINA, LYUBOV’ VIKTOROVNA (Medical centre "Mediton-Media", Moscow) answers.

Yes, the oil induce improves cholecystis function and helps the better gastrointestinal digestion, gradually normalizing the stool.

Add 1 spoonful of oil into porridge, salad etc. The oil can be taken with an empty stomach. In this case the initial dose must be 1 teaspoonful. If one has a good tolerance, the dose can be gradually increased up to 1 spoonful.

Question: What are the contraindications of oil inducing?

Answer.
Doctor-endocrinologist, MD ZASORINA, LYUBOV’ VIKTOROVNA (Medical centre "Mediton-Media", Moscow) answers.

The oil has few contraindications:

  • hepatitis (of any etiology)
  • acute conditions (abdominal pains, elevated temperature)

Any other contraindications are practically absent.

Question: Can anyone induce the oil if having the cholelithiasis?

Answer.
Doctor-endocrinologist, MD ZASORINA, LYUBOV’ VIKTOROVNA (Medical centre "Mediton-Media", Moscow) answers.

Yes. It is better to consume 1 teaspoonful 3 times a day by taking it at the end of food intake.

For example:

Breakfast. 1. Cottage cheese. 2. Sandwich – bread with 1 teaspoonful of oil spread. Eat with tea or coffee.

Dinner. Soup, the second dish and salad with 1 teaspoonful of red oil at the end of the dinner.

Question: I had hepatitis. Is it contraindicated to take the oil?

Answer.
Doctor-endocrinologist, MD ZASORINA, LYUBOV’ VIKTOROVNA (Medical centre "Mediton-Media", Moscow) answers.

After discharging from the inpatient care you can gradually add the oil in food beginning with 1/2 teaspoonful up to 1 spoonful per day.

The oil will improve the digestion. The immune and stabilized effect of the carotinoids (provitamin A), vitamin E, co-enzyme Q10 will help the organism to recover after the disease in a better way. It is not recommended to make a break between oil taking, because such chronic disease as hepatitis B and C needs permanent liver support.

But be very careful with other fats such as margarine and mayonnaise, and other solid fats!

Question: I was given the diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis. Can I take the oil with this disease? ?

Answer.
Doctor-endocrinologist, MD ZASORINA, LYUBOV’ VIKTOROVNA (Medical centre "Mediton-Media", Moscow) answers.

Yes, you can. But it is better to add oil into food because with chronic pancreatitis there is a tendency to frequent and liquid stool. The use of 1 teaspoonful of oil 3 times a day will improve the digestion and won't provoke the indigestion.
